Teerasil focused on beating Kuwait after Spanish sabbatical

Thailand striker Teerasil Dangda is determined to celebrate his return from Spain by helping the national team secure victory against Kuwait on Wednesday.

Teerasil Dangda talks to the media after arriving at Suvarnabhumi airport.

Teerasil arrived in Thailand yesterday after spending three weeks training with Atletico Madrid and was enthusiastic about the benefits ahead of this week's Asian Cup qualifying opener.

"To go and train in Spain was a good experience for me," he said.

"I have learned a lot about Spanish football and the atmosphere of professional football."

Teerasil admitted there were some initial problems with communication but found the coaching staff and other players very helpful overall.

"At the beginning, I had some problems communicating because everyone speaks in Spanish," he said. "Sometimes I didn't understand what the coach wanted but the other players helped me a lot."

Teerasil was unsure whether he would return to Atletico Madrid in the future, leaving the matter in the hands of his Thai Premier League club, Muang Thong United.

"At the moment, there are no talks about my contract between the two clubs," he said.

"For me, if there is a chance, I would like to go back and train with this world-class team again."

Teerasil's focus now shifts to helping Thailand overcome Kuwait on Wednesday and he insisted he is ready to play.

"I don't have any problems with injuries at all," he said.

"For fitness, I don't have any problem because in Spain, I was running and training every day."
