Traditional sports favoured as hosts tailor programme to suit ambitions

Many sporting tournaments, including the Olympic Games and Asian Games, have grown in popularity since their establishment. Unfortunately, this is not the case for the biennial SEA Games.

Tennis and gymnastics are two of the Olympic sports that will be dropped from the SEA Games this year.

The tournament's popularity has declined and it is partly due to the poor management of host countries.
