Juniors display their skills

The DHL Bangkok Lions RFC held their annual Bangkok International Rugby Tournament last weekend with over 640 players across eight groups playing some very exciting rugby.
Teams from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Thailand were competing across two days for glory at the Bangkok Patana Sports Complex. In the final outcome, glory was had by all.
The standard of rugby across all age groups was very good, with hosts, the DHL Bangkok Lions RFC performing very well. All players were well supported by family, friends and teammates and scores in the finals on Sunday indicated how close the competition was, with the majority of games decided by only one try.
Tournament organiser and BLRFC general manager Ahmed Fawzi was impressed by the calibre of rugby shown by his club, as well as that of the touring and local sides from Thailand.
The Under-18 Cup final was a Malaysian affair between the Malaysian Cobras and Bandar Penawar Sports School, with the Cobras running out eventual winners late in the second half.
Princess Chulabhorn College edged out a gritty Bangkok Lions in the Under-16 Cup Final. The Under-14 final was an all-Thai affair between Mathayomwatsrichanpradit School and Nawamin with the Mathayomwatsrichanpradit eventual victors.
The Bangkok Lions won the Under-9, 11 and Under-12 division, with Hong Kong Union Sandy Bay taking the Under-10 age group and Plearn Pattana winning the Under-8 division.
The Bangkok Lions RFC looks forward to welcoming back all teams in 2011.
