Patcharajutar beats Numa in season-opener

Patcharajutar Kongkrapan yesterday won the season-opening tournament of the Singha-SAT Thai LPGA Championship in Nakhon Ratchasima.

In the final round of the 54-hole event at Ranchocharnwi Resort and Country Club, Patcharajutar fired a six-under-par 66 for 207, one shot ahead of Numa Gulyanamitta, who posted a 69 for 208.

Patcharajutar took home 71,900 baht in prize money while Numa claimed 49,900 baht.

Kusuma Meechai (66) came in third on 210 while Wannasiri Sirisamphan (74) finished fourth.

"It is a great feeling to win the first tournament of the season on the tour," said Patcharajutar, who also won last year's season-opener.

Patcharajutar will take a one-month course with coach Gary Gilchrist in the US before playing on the Symetra Tour - formerly the Futures Tour.

The amateur title went to national player Supamas Saengchan, who closed with a 69 for 212.
