Murray heads autumn Bangkok field

Wimbledon winner Andy Murray will start his autumn Asian campaign by headlining at the Thailand Open from September 23, officials have announced.

The world number two who last played the event in the Thai capital in 2011 and claimed the title, will lead a field which also features two more top 10 players, number six Tomas Bercych and number nine defending champion Richard Gasquet of France.

Also competing at the Impact arena on the outskirts of the city: Canadian Milos Raonic and Bangkok debutant Mikhail Youzhny.

Murray will be making his fourth appearance at the Thailand Open, having reached the final on his tournament debut in 2005. He lost to fellow Briton Tim Henman in the 2006 first round.

"I wasn't able to come and defend my title last year so it will be great to be back this year," said the Scot in a statement. "I look forward to seeing all the fans again."

Berdych is returning to the field for the first time in five years after a 2008 semi-final, where he lost to Novak Djokovic. Gasquet won the 2012 title in his first appearance at the tournament.
