Brawling shuttler ready for truce

Former badminton star Bodin "Art" Issara is ready for a handshake, but his former partner Maneepong "A" Jongjit remains tightlipped after they both returned to Bangkok on Wednesday night.

‘’Art’’ Bodin renewed his apology to ‘’A’’ Maneepong and admitted he lost his cool during the Canada Open 2013 Badminton Men’s Double Final on Sunday, which ended in a highly public chase and punch-up on the court and disqualification.

Bodin said he would ready to shake hands with Maneepong this Saturday when the two are to appear before the Badminton Association of Thailand, which is expected to punish one or even both of them.

Maneepong has declined to talk to reporters since his arrival back in Thailand.

The two came back from Canada on Wednesday night on different flights which landed only 10 minutes apart.

They were a highly successful doubles partnership and made their way to the 2012 Olympics in London, reac hing the quarter-finals before splitting when Bodin left the association to join the Granular Badminton Club. Maneepong stayed with the badminton association.
