Two-year doping ban for shot putter Avdeyeva

The Russian athletics federation's anti-doping committee have banned shot putter Anna Avdeyeva for two years for doping, the federation press service announced Wednesday.

The Russian athletics federation's anti-doping committee have banned shot putter Avdeyeva for two years for doping, the federation press service announced Wednesday.

It said that a sample Avdeyeva gave for testing on July 30, 2013 at the Podolsk training base near Moscow contained the banned steroid oralturinabol.

"Avdeyeva is suspended for two years. Her ban starts on August 5, 2013," said the statement.
