Kiwi playmaker Stewart to join Bayonne

Kiwi fly-half Blair Stewart is to leave Grenoble at the end of the season on a two-year contract with Top 14 rivals Bayonne, the Basque club announced Tuesday.

Grenoble's New Zealander fly-half Blair Stewart hits a penalty kick during the French Top 14 rugby Union match against Racing Metro at the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble

The 30-year-old former Hurricanes and Highlanders playmaker has been at Grenoble since 2010 after two years with Albi.

The departure of Stewart, who has started 14 games in this season's Top 14, was expedited after Grenoble announced the signing of Racing-Metro fly-half Jonathan Wisnieswski next season.
