Ratchaburi continue impressive start

Ratchaburi’s brilliant start to the Thai Premier League season continued last night when they shocked SCG Muang Thong United 2-1.

The Dragons, who struggled to avoid relegation last term, came from behind and scored twice after they were reduced to 10 men.

The defeat saw the Kirins drop from first to third while Ratchaburi became joint leaders along with promoted club Singhtarua who beat Samut Songkhram 3-0.

At SCG Stadium, Mario Gjurovski gave Muang Thong the lead after 41 minutes.

Muang Thong looked set to seal the three points when Ratchaburi’s Chutipol Thongtae was sent off in the 65th minute.

But Ratchaburi fought back with goals from Sarawut Masuk (87) and Puwadon Suvannachart (90).

At PAT Stadium, hosts Singhtarua hammered Samut Songkhram 3-0 with goals from Leandro Oliveira (45), Krirkrit Taweekarn (57) and Sarawut Kongcharoen (89).

At Chonburi Stadium, Chonburi scored two late goals to beat Bangkok Glass 3-2.

Kazuto Kushida opened the scoring for Chonburi just before half-time, only for Darko Tasevski (57) and Teerathep Winothai (70) to give the visitors the lead.

Chonburi then stunned the Rabbits with goals from Chakrit Buathong and Thago Cunha in the dying moments.

At I-Mobile Stadium, champions Buriram United ended their slump with a 2-0 win over PTT Rayong thanks to goals from Kai Hirano and Carmelo Gonzalez.

In another upset of the day, Chiang Rai won 2-0 at Suphanburi.

In other matches, Si Sa Ket beat Police United 1-0, Army United defeated Songkhla United 2-1, Osotspa M-150 Saraburi drew 1-0 with TOT, Bangkok United drew 0-0 with Chainat, and Air Force drew 0-0 with BEC Tero Sasana.
