Montpellier's Ouedraogo back for season finale

Montpellier's Ouedraogo back for season finale

French title contenders Montpellier have been boosted by the return of back row international forward Fulgence Ouedraogo, who could return from injury to face Racing Metro in Saturday's Top 14 showdown.

Fulgence Ouedraogo takes part in a training session at the Oceane Stadium in Le Havre, northwestern France, on November 15, 2013

The 26-year-old, who has won 34 caps for France, is back in training and set to be part of the squad after recovering from a shoulder injury that has kept him out for over five months.

"He will be in the group," confirmed Montpellier coach Fabien Galtie about the player who picked up the injury on international duty during France's 38-18 victory over Tonga last November.

Montpellier are currently in second place in the Top 14, two points behind leaders Toulon and two ahead of Clermont in third, as the season wraps up this weekend ahead of the championship play-offs.

The top two sides qualify automatically for the semi-finals and the next four teams meet for the right to join them.

Defending French champions Castres are in fifth spot but just two points ahead of Toulouse and Stade Francais as the season prepares for a dramatic finale.

Toulon host Stade Francais on Saturday, Toulouse await Grenoble, Clermont tackle Perpignan and Castres are on the road at Bayonne.
