The Frenchman crossed the finish line in 5.34.44 hours in the 174km race.

Compatriot Loic Ruffaut finished second (5.35.49) and Giuseppe Di Salvo of Italy third (5.37.42).

The annual one-day La Marmotte is one of the most popular cycling events in Europe and attracted about 7,000 participants this year.

The most challenging part in the 174km route was a total of 5.18km of climbing.

It was the first time that a cyclist from a Thai team finished on the podium in this competition.

The achievement was a good start for the recently established Singha Infinite cycling team whose target is to get recognition from world cycling’s governing body UCI and compete on the international stage.

The team will join next week’s l’Etape du Tour de France and next month’s Haute Route in France.

After that, it will compete in the Tour of East Java in Indonesia, the Tour of Poyang Lake in China and the KOM Challenge in Taiwan.
