The “Bangkok Ultra Trail Festival 2014” is now accepting applications from those who wish to race around the scenic and breezy fishing park lake in Nong Chok district on Aug 3.

Organised by Active Management Asia, the trail run will start at the Korean International School in eastern Bangkok at 6.15am.

Consisting of 7km laps, the route will go into the rural splendour of Thai farmland, immersing runners in picturesque green rice paddy fields, wildlife and the 3km-long Nong Chok Finishing Park Lake, ensuring a breath of fresh air in proximity to bustling Bangkok

The race has been carefully crafted to suit various fitness levels, so that all runners — be they newbies or die-hard athletes — can take part.

There will be 7km (one lap), 14km (two laps), 21km (three laps) and 50km (just over seven laps) runs. There is no prize money, but there will be trophies for three winners in each category, plus a medal for everyone who makes it to the finish line.

The entry fees are 500, 600, 750 and 1,000 baht respectively for the 7km, 14km, 21km and 50km
categories. Register via www.ama-events.com by July 31 or at AMA office by Aug 1. Only 650 runners will be accepted.
