The Bangkok Post International Mini Marathon has been organised for six consecutive years.
The Bangkok Post newspaper, on behalf of the event organiser, has always been committed to raising the standards of competition.
This year we are delighted to introduce the “Champion Chip” electronic timer for our main category events, namely, The Mini Marathon 10.7 Km and The Micro Marathon 5.2 Km.
This will improve accuracy and data processing time, while raising the image of the event to become one of Thailand’s premier events for runners from around the world.

Saturday, 9 August 2014
10.00 am - 6.00 pm: Race registration, pick up T-shirt, race number, and Champion Chip electronic timer (for Mini Marathon 10.7 Km and Micro Marathon 5.2 Km only) at the main square, CentralWorld.
Sunday, 10 August 2014 (Race Day)
4.30 - 5.30 am: Race registration for those who failed to register on 9th August.
5.30 am: Mini Marathon 10.7 Km start
5.45 am: Micro Marathon 5.2 Km start
5.50 am: Walk-Run for Health 3.5 Km and Charity start
7.00 am: Prize ceremony
Race Age Categories
Mini Marathon 10.7 Km
- Male/Female, age groups: 15-29 / 30-39 / 40-49 / 50-59 / 60+
Remarks: Limited to 2,000 participants only. All runners use the Champion Chip timing system.
Micro Marathon 5.2 Km
- Male age groups: 12-39 / 40+
- Female age groups: 12-34 / 35+
Remarks: Limited to 1,000 participants only. All runners use the Champion Chip timing system.
Walk-Run for Health and Charity 3.5 Km
- Open to all participants.
Remarks: Limited to 500 participants only.
Champion Chip Electronic Timer
The runners taking part in the Mini Marathon 10.7 Km and Micro Marathon 5.2 Km events will be given Champion Chip electronic timers and race numbers on the registration date. Please verify your chip at the registration area to ensure that your personal information on the chip and in the database is correct.
Remarks: Changing numbers without permission from staff, using counterfeit chips or running with a chip registered to another person is stricty prohibited. Violating these rules will result in penalties including, but not limited to, disqualification.
Prizes and Commemorative Medals
Mini Marathon 10.7 Km
- The first male and female overall finishers will each receive a cash prize of 10,000 Baht.
- The top five finishers in each category will be awarded a trophy from the Bangkok Post.
- The first finisher in each category will have his/her photo taken by the Bangkok Post.
Micro Marathon 5.2 Km
- The top five finishers in each category will be awarded a trophy from the Bangkok Post.
Walk-Run for Health and Charity 3.5 Km
- All participants will receive a commemorative medal
Remarks: All winners must arrive at the designated area arranged by the organising committee before 7 am.
Failure to do so will result in disqualification and the prize awarded to the next finisher.
Viewing Race Results and Downloading Certificates
Race results for all winners will be posted at www.championchip-thailand.com by 5 pm on the race day.
Certificates will be available for download at www.championchip-thailand.com within 3 days after the race.
The race results for the first 1,000 runners who complete the Mini Marathon 10.7 Km will be printed in the Bangkok Post newspaper within 10 days after the race day. For this reason please print your full name in English on the application form.
Entry Fee and Participants Limits
250 baht for each event
- Mini Marathon 10.7 Km — Limit 2,000 persons
- Micro Marathon 5.2 Km — Limit 1,000 persons
- Walk-Run for Health and Charity 3.5 Km — Limit 500 persons
Remarks: All participants will receive a T-shirt and a commemorative medal on the race day.

Race Cancellation
The organiser reserves the right to cancel the marathon without refund due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances outside of our reasonable control, such as natural disasters or circumstances that right cause a potential risk to the health and safety of the participants to others.
