Heavy rain delayed play in the morning, resulting in a sudden-death shoot-out which saw eight teams battle it out in the King's Cup Elephant Polo Tournament at VR Sports Club.

Casillero del Diablo, Mekhong, Hendricks Gin and Bangkok Bank each won their penalty shoot-outs with all the winning teams advancing to the semi-finals.

The big winners of the day were the 2,000 students who attended the event.

On Chang Noi Day (Little Elephant Day), children from local schools all over Bangkok were invited to get up close with the elephants.

A number of educational activities were arranged for the kids.

The annual tournament, which raises funds for elephant conservation, ends tomorrow. Entry is free.
