Thailand won four gold medals at the Asian Para Games in Incheon, South Korea yesterday.

Wheelchair racer Phet Rungsri won in the men's 100m T52 in a world record time of 18.89sec, with teammate Pichaya Kuratanasiri taking bronze.

In powerlifting, Wandee Kongmuang claimed gold in the women's 50kg class after lifting 89kg.

In boccia, reigning Paralympic champions Thailand, led by Pattaya Thedthong, defeated China 5-3 in the BC1-2 category.

Thailand finished second in the BC4 competition after losing 5-4 to Hong Kong who won in a tie-break after a 4-4 draw.

In shooting, Bodin Sornsrivichai won the men's air pistol individual title of the P1 class, while Somporn Muangsiri was second in the women's event.

Javelin thrower Surang Kamsuk won Thailand's first gold medal in Incheon on Sunday.

Thailand hope to bring home 25 gold medals and finish in the top sixth overall in Incheon

Thailand were fifth with 20 gold medals at the inaugural Asian Para Games in Guangzhou in 2010.

About 4,500 athletes from 41 countries are competing in 23 sports at the second Asian Para Games which end on Oct 24.
