Chonburi had an early chance through their captain, Pipob On-mo, but his shot flew wide. They threatened again in the 14th minute when Natthaphong Samana crossed the ball to Pipob, only for Bangkok Glass's defence to clear the ball.

Bangkok Glass also had their chances. They appeared intent on playing a counter-attacking game and Kaimbi looked dangerous throughout, taking a strong shot that was saved by Chonburi keeper Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool.

Despite both sides playing attacking football, they turned at half-time with the score still locked at 0-0.

The stalemate continued in the second half, with both sides having their chances to score.

But then, nine minutes before full-time, the Chonburi defence failed to clear a ball and Kaimbi capitalised to put Bangkok Glass in front.

Having fallen behind, Chonburi pushed hard for an equaliser but were unable to produce a goal.

The defeat was a bitter pill for Chonburi, who also finished as runners-up in the Thai Premier League.

After the match, Bangkok Glass captain Chartree Chimtalay paid tribute to his teammates.

"We had been waiting for seven years," he said. "This trophy is what we have been waiting for.

"Every player played their best in this match and I would like to thank everyone, from our supporters to our sponsors."

Bangkok Glass won three million baht as the winners of the tournament while Chonburi took home 500,000 baht.
