Jirapong wins 100m title in record time

SEA Games champion Jirapong Meenapra comfortably won the men's 100m sprint title at the 43rd National Games in Nakhon Ratchasima yesterday.

The Surat Thani runner crossed the line in a new Games record time of 10.31sec. He also set Thailand's new record of 10.08sec in the qualifying round.

In the women's 100m, Suphan Buri's Tatsaporn Wannakit claimed gold in 11.73sec.

Treewadee Yongphan, also of Suphan Buri, finished first in the women's 400m in 55.28sec, while Buri Ram's Kunanon Sukkaeew took the men's title in 47.76sec.

Sanchai Namket of Surin won the men's 10,000m title with the women's crown going to Nattaya Tanaronnawat of Lamphun.

Supanara Sukhasvasti Na Ayudhaya of  Bangkok won the men's long jump with an effort of 7.59m.

In equestrian, Siangsor Lertrattanachai of Pathum Thani was champion in show jumping while Koratawat Sumran of Chiang Mai won the individual eventing title and Suphan Buri got the team title.
