Apisit upsets Rattanapol to win 200m

Yothin and Treewadee claim gold in 800m while Pongsathon wins 10m air rifle competition and team title with Suphan Buri

Phatthalung's Apisit Promkaew won the men's 200m sprint title at the 43rd National Games in Nakhon Ratchasima yesterday.

Apisit crossed the finish line in 21.63sec to upset national team runner Rattanapol Sowan of Udon Thani, who clocked 21.76sec.

There was no surprise in the women's 200m as Tatsaporn Wannakit of Suphan Buri comfortably won gold in 24.09sec, well ahead of Surat Thani's Chonlada Kertbut, who timed 24.67sec.

In the men's 400m hurdles, Nitipol Thongput of Trang beat Vithawat Thumchana of Loei for gold, while Surat Thani's Juthamas Khonkam took the women's title.

Yothin Yaprajan of Satun claimed gold in the men's 800m in 1:52.94min while Suphan Buri's Treewadee Yongphan won the women's event in 2:21.14min.

In shooting, Pongsathon Panyathong bagged gold in the men's individual 10m air rifle and helped Suphan Buri win the team title.

In tennis, Nakhon Ratchasima upset Bangkok 2-1 in the men's team final, while Suphan Buri beat Bangkok 2-0 in the women's final.
