Kiatisak visits injured hero

National coach Kiatisak Senamuang yesterday visited a wounded policeman at Police General Hospital.

Pol Sub Lt Teeradej Lekpoo, who was injured while on duty during last year's political rallies, is a big fan of Kiatisak, who is also a police officer.

"I am very happy to see Kiatisak because he is my idol,'' said Teeradej, who is known as 'the policeman who kicked a bomb'.

"I have followed his results since he was a player. His visit is a dream come true for me. I hope he wins the King's Cup.''

Kiatisak, who gave Teeradej a signed shirt, said it was sad to see a 'hero' get injured while on duty and wished him a fast recovery.

Kiatisak guided Thailand to win the AFF Suzuki Cup last month and his next assignment will be the King's Cup, which will be held in Nakhon Ratchasima from Feb 1-7.

Kiatisak yesterday called up Bangkok United defender Mika Chunuansri to the King's Cup squad, replacing Adisorn Promruak of BEC Tero Sasana, who is injured.

Meanwhile, Thai Premier League side Suphanburi are reluctant to release Thai-Swiss midfielder Charyl Chappuis for the King's Cup, which will take place just before the new season starts.

"He is unfit and I want him to train with us ahead of the new season,'' said Suphanburi assistant coach Worawut Srimakha.

However, BEC manager Thanya Wongnak said the club had given the green light for its three players, including midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin, to play at the King's Cup.
