Steyn free to play after hearing

PARIS - South African international fly-half Morne Steyn is free to play in his side Stade Francais' next European Challenge game after receiving a one-match ban on Wednesday from the National Rugby League (LNR).

Stade Francais Paris' South African fly-half Morne Steyn kicks the ball to score a penalty during the French Top 14 rugby union match between Stade Francais Paris and Bayonne in Paris on November 2, 2013

Steyn, 30, who had asked for his disciplinary hearing to be moved forward from next week to Wednesday, had already missed the Top 14 clash with Castres as a result of being sent off for kicking Fijian Mosese Ratuvou in the championship game with Lyon on January 2.

That was taken into account and means he is free to play against Romanian outfit Bucharest on Saturday, if selected.

For his part, Ratuvou also received a one-game suspension after he was cited for being overly aggressive in the match with Stade and will not be able to play in Lyon's European Challenge meeting with Edinburgh on Saturday.
