RBSC Sixes event starts today

The 31st RBSC International Cricket Sixes Tournament presented by Bangkok Post starts today at the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.

The annual event, which ends on Sunday, features one Thai and seven overseas teams from India, Hong Kong, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

There will be ex-Test players participating including Sanjeev Sharma from India, and Danish Kaneria and Shabbir Ahmed from Pakistan.

"The standard of play is getting better every year" said organiser Jayesh Kumar Bhudhara, chairman of RBSC cricket section.

This year the tournament is sponsored by the Bangkok Post.

In Canberra, England beat the Prime Minister's XI by 60 runs in a one-day match yesterday.

England, batting first after winning the toss, scored 391 for six with Ian Bell topscoring with 187.

England then bowled out the PM XI for 331 with Australian World Cup squad member Glenn Maxwell smashing 136 off 91 balls.
