Dk6rs await winners of RBSC and Stallion clash

After play on day three at the 31st RBSC Cricket Sixes yesterday, Dk6rs from Pakistan reached the final at the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.

In today’s Cup final, Dk6rs will play the winner of the semi-final between hosts RBSC and Stallion CC.

Yesterday’s outstanding performance belonged to former Pakistan’s Test player Danish Kaneria who bowled a maiden over — only the third time a maiden has been bowled in 31 years of this competition.

The final day of the tournament, sponsored by the Bangkok Post, takes place today with the semi-finals starting at 11am and the final at 3pm at RBSC grounds.

In Peshawar, Pakistan cricketers yesterday met survivors of last month’s horrific Taliban school massacre, with captain Misbah-ul Haq saying the brave youngsters had inspired his team to win the World Cup.

Along with Misbah, popular all-rounder Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal, Ahmed Shehzad, Ehsan Adil, Yasir Shah and Mohammad Irfan visited the army-run school in Peshawar where 150 people, most of them children, lost their lives on Dec 16.

Misbah said meeting with students who survived the attack — the deadliest in Pakistan’s history — had given the cricketers enormous courage ahead of next month’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

“It was a great feeling,” Misbah said. “The kids gave us tremendous courage and wished the best for us in the coming World Cup.”
