Teerasil to return home

Teerasil to return home

Teerasil Dangda will return to Thailand on Thursday and could play for the national team at the King's Cup.

The striker has terminated his loan deal with Spanish La Liga side Almeria, citing the language barrier and a lack of playing time.

Teerasil joined Almeria in July from Thai Premier League side SCG Muang Thong United on a one-year loan contract.

"I had a lot of problems, particularly communications with the coach and teammates and that made it difficult for me to understand the team's tactics," he said.

The 26-year-old is expected to arrive in Bangkok on Thursday — the last day for players' registration for TPL clubs.

Teerasil will play for Muang Thong in the new season, which begins on Feb 14.

Thailand coach Kiatisak Senamuang says he would welcome Teerasil's comeback to the national side for the King's Cup if he returns to the country in time.

At the King's Cup, to be held in Nakhon Ratchasima from Feb 1-7, Thailand will face Honduras, Uzbekistan and South Korea.

After a round-robin competition, the team with the highest points will be champions.
