English trio confirmed to join Thailand Classic field 

Three English players will take part in next month's Thailand Classic at Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin, organisers said yesterday.

The trio are Tommy Fleetwood, the 2013 Johnnie Walker Championship winner, David Howell, the 2013 champion of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, and Simon Dyson, a six-time European Tour winner.

Belgium's long hitter Nicolas Colsaerts will also compete in the US$2 million event to be held from Feb 12-15.

They will join the likes of Miguel Angel Jimenez, Thomas Bjorn, Koumei Oda, Anirban Lahiri and Asian Tour No.1 David Lipsky in Hua Hin.

The Thai contingent features Thongchai Jaidee, Thaworn Wiratchant, Prayad Marksaeng, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Prom Meesawat and Chapchai Nirat.

The richest golf tournament in Thailand is co-sanctioned by the European and Asian tours. It is also part of the European Tour's Race to Dubai.

Black Mountain is ready to host the first European Tour event in Thailand since 2007, the organisers said.

"The golf course is in its best condition since it was opened in 2007," said Black Mountain general manager Harald Elisson.

"Players and spectators will see Black Mountain at its very best."
