In yesterday's other match of the four-team tournament, South Korea beat Honduras 2-0.

After two matches, South Korea have six points while Uzbekistan and Thailand each have three.

On the final day of the tournament on Saturday, Thailand must beat South Korea by at least two goals and hope the other result goes their way to lift the King's trophy they last claimed in 2007.

Following a round-robin competition, the team with the highest points will lift the coveted trophy.

At the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium, Uzbekistan were without two suspended players who were sent off in their 1-0 loss to South Korea in their opening match.

Thailand got off to a fast start and went in front after just eight minutes when Kroekrit Taweekarn's cross found Pokklaw A-Nan who comfortably sent the ball into the back of the net.

But Uzbekistan, a U22 side with a couple of full international players, regrouped and scored two goals just before half-time through Sardor Sabirkhodjaev and Jamshid Iskanderov.

Thailand dominated possession early in the second half but ran out of ideas to break Uzbekistan's defence.

Pokklaw made it 2-2 after 71 minutes but the Uzbeks were unstoppable in the last 12 minutes.

Fomin Maksimilian regained the lead for the visitors in the 78th minute, Abbosbek Makhstaliev made it 4-2 in the 81st minute and Igor Sergeev completed the rout two minutes from time.

In the dying moments, Uzbekistan were reduced to 10 men when Maksimilian received his second yellow card.

In the other match, Lee Chang-Min (26) and Lee Woo-Hyeok (84) were on target as Hoduras missed three penalty kicks.

Pokklaw A-Nan, left, scored both goals for Thailand.
