Pichai Junhavachira was yesterday elected uncontested to lead the Thailand Boxing Association (TBA) for another two-year term.
Pichai said that in the past two years, he has worked hard for the Kingdom's boxers and will continue developing the team.
His ultimate goal is for Thailand's boxers to be successful at next year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
"We should have at least two boxers in the Rio de Janeiro Games," he said.
"Apart from training and recruting boxers for the team, we are considering hiring foreign coaches. It is likely to be a Cuban."
As for the biennial SEA Games, which will be held in Singapore in June, Pichai said the association will send boxers in 10 out of 11 weight categories. The 49kg division is the only one in which Thailand will not be represented.
