Muang Thong sweat on Gjurovski and Kim fitness ahead of trip to Bangkok Glass

SCG Muang Thong United face a second successive tough weekend when they travel to Bangkok Glass in the Thai Premier League today.

Muang Thong midfielder Mario Gjurovski, left, in action against Buriram last week.

Muang Thong were held to a 1-1 home draw by champions Buriram United last week and cannot underestimate FA Cup winners Bangkok Glass.

The Glass Rabbits are strong on their Leo Stadium’s artificial pitch and beat Muang Thong here last year.

Muang Thong manager Karn Jantarat said Macedonian midfielder Mario Gjurovski and defender Kim Dong Jin needed late fitness tests after they got injured against Buriram.

“I think Kim should be able to play but it may be difficult for Gjurovski to play in this match,” Karn said.

Their attack will be led by Thailand striker Teerasil Dangda and Brazilian Cleiton Silva.

“It will be a difficult game for us but we must get at least a point,” Karn said.

Meanwhile, Bangkok Glass striker Leandro Oliveira is doubtful.

Glass team coach Ricardo Rodriguez said he was not worried much about Teerasil who had an unsuccessful spell at Spanish club Almeria.

“He did gain experience from playing in Spain but he did not play much for Almeria,’’ he said.

Surprise leaders Army United host Bangkok United tomorrow, while Buriram are idle this weekend because they will have to play at Guangzhou R&F in the AFC Champions League in midweek.
