Buriram's late own goal gifts Chonburi 1-1 draw

A late Ko Seul-Ki own goal handed Chonburi a 1-1 draw at champions Buriram United in the Thai Premier League last night.

Buriram dominated for long periods against the Sharks, who were second last season, and Prakit Deeprom gave the Thunder Castle the lead after 66 minutes.

Chonburi, who were without several key players, fought back spiritedly and forced South Korea's Ko to head the ball into his own net from a free-kick six minutes from time.

Moments later Spanish defender Andres Tunez saw his successive shots denied by Chonburi goalkeeper Pitthawas Jumnongchob.

It was Buriram's third consecutive draw in four matches of the new campaign. They also conceded a late equaliser in their 2-2 stalemate at Suphanburi last week.

It was also Chonburi's third draw with one win and one loss.

At Khao Plong Stadium, surprise leaders Army continued their good run with a 2-0 win against hosts Chainat.

Anuwat Noichuenphan and Melvin Johannes were on target for the visitors.

Another military club, promoted Navy, earned their first point of the season with a scoreless draw at BEC Tero Sasana.

Fellow newcomers Saraburi also got their first point of the campaign with a 1-1 draw with Chiang Rai.

A Kazuki Murakami own goal gave Saraburi a 1-0 lead after seven minutes but Renan Marques equalised in the 14th minute.

Nakhon Ratchasima, in their first ever season in the top flight, beat TOT 2-1.

Panomkorn Saisorn gave the visiting team the lead after 21 minutes only for Parinya U-tapao and Satoshi Nagano to hit back.

At TOT Stadium, Heberty Fernandes scored two goals for Ratchaburi to beat hosts Osotspa 2-0.

At Leo Stadium, Bangkok Glass FC beat Bangkok United 1-0 with former Australia defender Matthew Smith scoring the winner in the dying moments.
