KUALA LUMPUR - Badminton's global body Monday gave Malaysia's former world number one Lee Chong Wei a backdated eight-month ban for doping, allowing him to resume playing on May 1.
The Badminton World Federation said an anti-doping panel found that Lee accidentally ingested the banned anti-inflammatory drug dexamethasone in a food supplement.
The panel said Lee had been "negligent" but that it was "convinced this is not a case of doping with intent to cheat".
