Thai Premier League champions Buriram United should retain their lead when they travel to TOT tomorrow.

After nine games, the Thunder Castle have 21 points, one ahead of Bangkok Glass.

Buriram were knocked out in the group stage of the AFC Champions League in midweek despite thrashing China’s Guangzhou R&F 5-0. They finished with 10 points in Group F as did Japan’s Gamba Osaka and South Korea’s Seongnam.

But the Thais were eliminated because they had the worst results among the trio. Buriram chairman Newin Chidchob vowed to bounce back in domestic competitions.

“We will sweep all three domestic titles,’’ he said.

Buriram will be led by in-form Brazilian forward Diogo Santo who scored a hat-trick against Guangzhou.

On paper, Bangkok Glass should also have few problems when they play at Chainat tomorrow.

The Glass Rabbits are strong away from home with three wins and one defeat.

However, the Rabbits have never won at Chainat and Glass assistant coach Apisit Eimumpak said the team would be happy with one point.

After this weekend, the league will take a one-month break as the full national side will play in the World Cup qualifying and the U23 team will compete at the SEA Games in Singapore.

Meanwhile, national coach Kiatisak Senamuang yesterday announced his 23-man squad for the first match of the 2018 World Cup qualifying against Vietnam in Bangkok on May 24.

The team is led by striker Teerasil Dangda and Chanathip Songkrasin who is also in the U23 squad which will begin its defence of the SEA Games title on May 29.
