Bkk Glass release Kaimbi

Bangkok Glass striker Lazarus Kaimbi, currently serving a four-match ban for an on-field disciplinary transgression, has been released by the Thai Premier League club.

The Glass Rabbits yesterday unveiled Spanish midfielder Daniel Garcia Rodriguez "Toti" as Kaimbi's replacement.

Bangkok Glass said on their website that they had parted company with Namibia forward Kaimbi.

The Rabbits, who are currently third in the TPL, said they wanted the player to get a chance to find a new team.

The transfer market for the TPL, which completed its first half of the season on Sunday, closes on Friday.

The 27-year-old star was slapped with a four-match suspension and a 40,000-baht fine after punching Buriram United captain Suchao Nutnum in a TPL match on July 17.

Suchao also received a one-game ban and a 20,000-baht fine for his part in the ugly incident during the goalless draw.

Later the Namibian raised more eyebrows when he used an Instagram post to claim that Suchao made racist remarks during the incident by "calling me a f****** monkey. I am a human being not a monkey.''

Kaimbi moved to Bangkok Glass from Osotspa in 2013 and his contract with the Glass Rabbits was due to expire at the end of the 2015 season.

Kaimbi scored the winner for Bangkok Glass in last year's FA Cup final against Chonburi.

Bangkok Glass signed Rodriguez from Spain's second division side Alaves for an undisclosed fee.

"Toti is a creative player,'' said Glass coach Ricardo Rodriguez.

"He is fast and can dribble and score. He also has a good attitude."

Meanwhile, Bangkok United hammered TOT 6-0 on Sunday night to move to fourth in the TPL on 31 points, six behind leaders Buriram.

Buriram and Muang Thong have 37 points but the Thunder Castle have a better goal difference.
