Organisers believe their short stay in Bangkok will help boost the country's economy and tourism.

"I am sure that this will have a positive impact on our economy and boost tourism in the country,'' Suwat Liptapanlop, president of the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand, said.

"I'd like to thank Nadal and Djokovic for helping promote Thailand."

Serbia's Djokovic, who won three Grand Slam titles this year, and Nadal of Spain, have visited the country before to take part in the now-defunct Thailand Open but never met in the tournament.

This will be the first time that the two superstars square off in the Kingdom.

They last met in the quarter-finals of this year's French Open when Djokovic won 7-5, 6-3, 6-1.

Nadal is 23-21 against Djokovic in their head-to-head record.

Nadal has won 14 Grand Slam titles and Djokovic 10.

Tomorrow, Djokovic and Nadal will go to Siriraj Hospital to sign the get-well book for His Majesty the King in the morning.

They will then meet Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House.

A farewell match for Thai player Danai Udomchoke, the 2006 Asian Games champion, will take place before the main event which is scheduled to start at 8.30pm.

Danai will team up with former junior Wimbledon champion Noppawan Lertcheewakarn to face former world No.9 Paradorn Srichaphan and Tamarine Tanasugarn.

Tickets for the event, which is being organised by CP and True Corporation, have been sold out.
