South Korea swept the men's and women's singles titles at the US$120,000 SCG Thailand Open at Muang Thong Thani yesterday.

In the men's singles final, fourth seed and world No.18 Lee Hyun Il claimed a 21-17, 22-24, 21-8 victory over Indonesia's Ihsan Maulana Mustofa, while second seed Sung Ji Hyun took only 37 minutes to defeat unseeded Liang Xiaoyu of Singapore 21-11, 21-14 in the women's singles decider.

Lee and Sung took home the winner's cheque of US$9,000 (about 324,000 baht) each while Mustofa and Liang received $4,560 (about 164,160 baht) each.

Choi Sol Gyu and Eom Hye Won, also from South Korea, won the mixed doubles title after edging third seeds Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto of Indonesia 21-19, 17-21, 21-16. The Korean pair got $9,480 (341,280 baht) and the Indonesian duo received US$4,560 (164,160 baht).

In the men's doubles, Indonesia's Wahyu Pankaryanira and Ade Yusuf saw off Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boong Heong of Malaysia 20-22, 23-21, 21-16.

In the women's doubles, the title went to Huang Dongping and Li Yinhui of China who took a 20-22, 21-11, 21-15 win over South Korea's Chang Ye Na and Lee So Hee.

Meanwhile, Ratchanok's manager Kamala Thongkorn said her player had failed to cope with pressure during the semi-final match against Liang, adding: "She needs to learn from the loss here."

Former world No.1 Ratchanok, who received $1,740 (62,640 baht) as the semi-finalist, will next play at the French Open Super Series on Oct 20-25.
