LOS ANGELES - World number four Rickie Fowler, Japan's Hideki Matsuyama and Ireland's Shane Lowry shared the lead after Friday's completion of the darkness-halted first round of the US PGA Phoenix Open.

Fowler, an American coming off a victory last month at Abu Dhabi, joined Matsuyama and Lowry on six-under par 65 and all three finished before play was stopped after being delayed earlier due to frost, as did India's Anibar Lahiri, alone in fourth on 66 after 18 holes.
American Bryce Molder closed his first round Friday morning with his lone bogey to fall into a pack on 67 that included compatriots Gary Woodland, Brooks Koepka, James Hahn and Brandt Snedeker plus England's Greg Owen and New Zealand's Danny Lee.
Matsuyama has a solid history at Phoenix, where he has tied for second and tied for fourth in two prior appearances. But he missed the cut in two of his past three tour starts
