Kiradech has best-ever Masters by Thais

AUGUSTA - Kiradech Aphibarnrat fired a two-under par 70 on Sunday (US time) to record the best finish ever by a Thai golfer at a major event.

The Bangkok heavyweight finished the Masters with a total score of 291 in the four-day tournament, three over par. He ended in a tie for 15th place.

Kiradech and Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa will each receive around $175,000 for the 15th place finish, or 6.1 million baht. Exact payouts will not be known until Monday afternoon.

Thongchai Jaidee finished in 57th place after bad rounds Saturday (81) and Sunday (78) ballooned his score to 19 over par for the tournament. He won about $20,000.

Danny Willett of England won the tournament with a four-round total of five under par. He defeated favourite Jordan Spieth of the United States and Lee Westwood of England by three shots.
