Big two ready to rumble in Thai League

Giants Buriram United and SCG Muang Thong United clash in the Thai League at I-Mobile Stadium tonight.

Champions Buriram and Muang Thong have got off to slow starts this season but have gradually found their form.

After seven games, Buriram lead the division on 17 points, two ahead of third-placed Muang Thong. Bangkok United are second on 16.

Buriram technical chairman Surapong Sawasdee said the Thunder Castle have three injured players -- Chitiphan Thanklang, Korawit Namviset and Anon Amornlertsak.

Buriram also will be without Brazilian striker Diogo Luis Santo who has been ruled out for months with injury.

Buriram have never lost to Muang Thong and Surapong wants that record to remain intact.

"It is an important game. We have only one option -- we cannot lose,'' he said.

Muang Thong coach Totchtawan Sripan said: "Our record against them is not good. But I don't look back, I look forward. I want to win every game."

Muang Thong are fresh from beating Si Sa Ket 4-0 at the weekend.

Their new players, including Thailand internationals Chanathip Songkrasin and Adisak Kraisorn, begun to find their feet as performances have improved.
