LONDON - Germany's Michael Jung won the richest prize in three-day eventing after victory in the Badminton horse trials in south-west England on Sunday saw the Olympic and European champion complete a Grand Slam.

Jung captured the Slam after winning consecutive titles at Burghley in England, the United States' Kentucky event and Badminton to claim a jackpot worth pound sterling240,000 ($347,000, 305,000 euros).
The only rider to have completed this treble was Britain's Pippa Funnell and that was 13 years ago.
However, Olympic and European champion Jung who also won a separate pound sterling80,000 for coming first on Sunday, led from start to finish at Badminton aboard his London 2012 gold-medal winning mount La Biosthetique-Sam and sealed his 'treble' with a flawless showjumping round on Sunday.
Jung won with a Badminton low record 34.4 penalties, beating compatriot Andreas Ostholt who was second on So Is Et with a total across the dressage, cross-country and showjumping phases of 43.4
Britain's Gemma Tattersall was third on Arctic Soul, with New Zealand's Mark Todd, a double Olympic champion and four-times Badminton winner, fourth at the age of 60 on Leonidas II.
Such was Jung's lead, he could afford to knock down two fences during Sunday's concluding showjumping stage but went clear anyway.
The 33-year-old's latest victory confirmed his standing as the favourite to retain his Olympic title at the Rio Games in August.
