Buriram seal Moreira deal

Anxious to cure their scoring woes, defending champions Buriram United have confirmed the signing of Portuguese striker Bruno Moreira.

Moreira, 28, will join the team in the second leg of the Thai League season. There are currently five games remaining in the first leg.

Despite being completely dominant last season, winning all three major domestic trophies without defeat, Buriram are now fifth in the league after a shock 1-0 home loss to Army United on Saturday.

They also lost defender Theerathon Bunmathan to arch-rivals Muang Thong United last week.

Buriram chairman Newin Chidchob had announced that there would be big changes at the club when the second leg of the league kicks off in a few weeks' time.

This appears to be the first, as according to the club's Facebook page, Moreira, who scored 14 goals for Pacos Ferreira in the Portuguese league last season, has signed a contract with the Thunder Castle.

"Bruno Moreira will play for Buriram United in the second leg and will pair up with Brazilian striker Diogo Luis Santo, who will return to action in the second leg as well," said the Facebook announcement.

Moreira played for Portugal's U16 and U17 teams but has not yet received a call-up to the full national team.
