Thaksin accuses Newin of defamation

A lawyer acting for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Thursday filed a complaint with the Crime Suppression Division accusing Newin Chidchob of defamation, reports said.
Lawyer Phicha Wichitsilp claimed Mr Newin, the Bhumjaithai Party de facto leader, had violated Articles 326 and 328 of the Criminal Code. He had handed over copies of the Daily News and Matichon newspapers, which published an interview with Mr Newin, as supporting evidence.
Mr Phicha said Mr Newin said during the interview with reporters on his birthday on Oct 4 that four key politicians were targets of assassination, including himself.
