Bus operator protest likely over NGV price float

Operators of private passenger buses, inter-provincial buses and trucks have threatened to halt services if the retail price of natural gas is floated next year.

Yanyong Amporntrakul, head of a club of private bus operators, said many operators of private buses and inter-provincial buses and some truck operators planned to stage a move to oppose the price hike of natural gas for vehicles (NGV), or compressed natural gas.

The government decided to gradually increase the gas price by 50 satang a kilogramme a month for 12 months starting on Jan 16 next year, or 6 baht a kilogramme to 14.50 baht a kilogramme by the end of next year from 8.50 baht currently.

let's face it, Thailand was suckered into converting to LPG AND NGV and Gasohol by offering super low subsidized prices by the politicians whose own, friends and families companies own the companies that make money from this. they have been talking about doing this for over 2 years, you were forewarned but didn't listen, you fools, you just saw that you could save money without listening to the warnings, no sympathy whiners
