No tolls on roads for New Year

The Highway Department will allow motorists to use motorways free of charges during the New Year from Dec 27 to Jan 3.

Wanchai Phaklak, director-general of the department, said motorists will be exempted from paying tolls on the Bangkok-Chon Buri (Highway 7) and Bang Pa-in-Bang Phli (Highway 9) motorways from 4pm on Dec 27 to midnight of Jan 3.

This was intended to convenience people's trips during the New Year, he said.
