Floating NGV 'will hit transport costs'

The government's plan to float the price of natural gas for vehicles (NGV) will affect the costs of transport, Land Transport Association (LTA) president Yu Chianyuenyongphong said on Wednesday.

Mr Yu said and increase of six baht a kilogramme in the cost of NGV would raise transport costs by 20 per cent.He called on the government to revise its decision and to maintain the price at 8.50 baht per kilogramme.The LTA also demanded that the government look into PTT's cost structure to prevent the energy conglomerate from hiking the NGV price.     Remove all subsidies on fuel, cooking oil , rice and what is else around and let the free market mechanism set the prize, fixed prizes is not good for innovation and creativity.
