Train derails, 1 dead, 120 hurt

A special express train running from Surat Thani to Bangkok derailed in Prachuap Khiri Khan province after hitting a pick-up truck at Pran Buri railway crossing on Wednesday afternoon, killing one person and injuring about 120 passengers, reports said.

The accident reportedly happened about 4pm.

The killed was reported to be a woman who drove the pick-up truck.

had this been one of the new Chinese high speed trains running on cheap dual gauge unsecured SRT track would have been 121 dead.
