Palace, malls excluded from expressway

Sra Pathum Palace and two nearby shopping malls were always excluded from plans for the Bang Khlo-Chaeng Watthana expressway extension, says the Expressway Authority of Thailand.

Exat governor Aiyanat Tinapai said the route from Urupong to Ratchadamri which runs along the Saen Saeb canal, never covered the palace, Siam Paragon and CentralWorld, despite public perceptions to the contrary.

The royal decree for land expropriation has been extended for another four years, starting on Jan 1 this year. The decree designates areas in Ratchathewi and Pathumwan districts which must be expropriated for the 2km on-off ramp.
