PM calls meeting on gas prices

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Monday morning called a meeting at Government House of cabinet ministers and officials to discuss the protest by truck operators and taxi drivers against the planned increases in the price of natural gas for vehicles (NGV) and LPG, reports said.

Thos called to attend the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong, Energy Minister Pichai Naripthapan, the director-general of the Land Transport Department  and executives of PTT Plc.

The cabinet earlier passed a resolution for the NGV price to go up to 14.50 baht from 8.50 baht at the rate of 50 satang per per month, between Jan 16 and December.

Hopefully the taxi drivers will open their eyes about the trustworthiness of the government they so desperately wanted, despite all.....From 8.50 to 14.50 is a raise of approximately EIGHTY PERCENT....CongratulationsPT!!!
