PM approves free-travel extension

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra supports the Transport Ministry’s proposal to extend the limited free travel scheme on Bangkok public buses and third-class trains for another three months, Transport Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat said after a meeting with her on Tuesday.

However, the plan for a flat fee of 20 baht for travel on the BTS skytrain and MRT underground railway would have to wait until 2015, he said.

ACM Sukumpol said that within two years there will be compatible tickets for trips using the  BTS, MRT, public buses and boats to allow passengers to travel conveniently throughout the city.

Does it really take the PM to approve a 3 month bus discount scheme.

Doesn't she have more important things to do and legions of public servants to sort out this important but minor matter.

Is she now as publicity hungry as her brother, if so the honeymoon is over.

    Was this an election promise?
