Oil Fund levies return

PTT and Bangchak Petroleum announced on Thursday that they are raising pump prices by 0.50 baht a litre for petrol and diesel and 0.30 baht for gasohol E85, following the Energy Ministry's decision to bring back the fuel levies.

Starting tomorrow morning, the new retail prices at PTT and Bangchak outlets will be 37.47 baht a litre for petrol 91, 36.19 baht for gasohol 95, 34.44 baht for gasohol 91, 33.44 baht for gasohol E20, 22.42 baht for gasohol E85 and 30.49 baht for diesel.The National Energy Policy Council today approved the resumption of Oil Fund levies on petrol, gasohol and diesel, starting on Jan 16, and resolved to raise the price of compressed natural gas by 0.50 baht per kilogramme, sold as natural gas for vehicles (NGV).Energy Policy and Planning Office chief Suthep Liamsiricharoen said the monthly levies collected on petrol and gasohol by the state Oil Fund will  be one baht a...

    The government is going to find ways to force the public to pay the rich rewards promised by the govenment to their loyal supporters who lost their lives or were injured during the Red Shirt Revolution. By providing the rewards the government can rest assured that another Red Shirt Revolt will rise from the ashes of the arson they ignited once the government makes the rallying cry.

    Folks, this is just the beginning of price increases. It will be interesting to see what this government does in the future. More price increases are on the way for many commodities that the consumer uses everyday. Someone has to pay for all of the spending of this government.
