Immigration officers struggle to find time for toilet breaks

A heavy workload, poor working environment and low pay have made life difficult for immigration police officials at Suvarnabhumi airport.

High air traffic volumes have forced immigration officials to race against time in processing streams of passengers passing through their counters.

The daily rush has reduced meal times to 15-20 minutes for each meal. Their only comfort is that they do not need to pay for the meal, which is provided.

If the pay is too low to attract officers then why not increase it until there are enough immigration officers to allow proper breaks and eliminate "overwork". OR perhaps they already had the money to do this and spent it some other way?

Interesting that in an international survey last year, 4 airports in the US and 3 in Europe was on the list of the 10 worst airports. Guess what none of the Thai airports was on this list.

Poor conditions at the airport are a direct result of massive corruption. Maybe these immigration workers will think twice the next time they are asked if corruption is acceptable. Bangkok is no different than any other international airport. Why is it only the Thai's complain and none of the other immigration officials at airports much busier than Bangkok?

as a recent passenger passing though immigration at Suvarnabhumi airport, it dumbfounds why only 1/3 of the immigration booths were manned.
Ques were long and slow
