After years of using the top-down approach to try to solve Bangkok's traffic congestion, officials now feel they need to see the problem from the other side by turning their ear to voices in troubled areas.
Phahon Yothin Road in front of Sripatum University in Chatuchak district is one of the spots where traffic is at its worst in rush hours. The City Hall’s Public Works Department recently asked Sripatum University students to help find ways to ease the traffic in their locality. SURAPOL PROMSAKA NA SAKOLNAKORN
"Local people know their problems better than others do," deputy city clerk Jumpol Sumpaopol says.
