Two air-conditioned bus services have been added to the routes between Don Mueang airport and central Bangkok starting Thursday, the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) says.

They are the A1 route between Don Mueang Airport and Mor Chit bus terminal, and the A2 route between the airport and Victory Monument.

The BMTA said the A1 route will have 6-8 buses making 14 round trips a day and the A2 will have 8-10 buses running 20 round trips a day. The first bus leaves at 9am and the last trip is at midnight.

Ok look at it another way the buses will run on an hourly basis they leave on the hour you arrive at the terminal at 2 passed the hour how long do you have to stand there for the next.You will not you will grab a taxi.That is one of the reasons the sky trail dose not work from the other airport both will need heavily subsidising to be effective . Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong in subsidising public transport if it reduces traffic congestion and benefits the public.

Starting Thursday? Really? Then why was I able to take the bus to BTS Mo Chit/MRT Chatuchak on Saturday March 2? And I believe the routes have also been switched in the article because we definitely took A2 to BTS. Yes, BTS/MRT before the bus continues on to Moh Chit.

All I can say is 'WOW'. Great reporting there BP.

Passengers need easy transportation to the tourist heart of Bangkok, namely the Khak San Road Area, Sukhumvit, Silom etc.

Locals needs easy access to BTS. I don't think these buses will make life any easier for passengers, and taxis will remain the more flexible but more expensive alternative. The government nor TAT doesn't seem to realise the needs of modern day travellers at all.

Quite a few of you here are asking 'why'. Think about it, you know why. It would require 'planning'. Something that does not exist here. It's like 'capacity planning' and BTS - two things that never go together.

Why not make use of the existing railway track as well? And with some planning this railway track can also link Don Muang with Suvarnabhumi too.

Having a hard time figuring out why a bus can only make two round trips per day. If it truly takes that long to reach DMK on the bus, then everyone except for the poorest backpacker will use taxis. And why a 9 am start, that misses a huge number of morning flights. Bus service should start at a time when passengers are heading to the airport (5 am), not at the time the driver wants to sleep until.

How about having the bus that goes to Victory Monument, go to the Rail Link station at Makkasan as the last stop.

Mor Chit, the beating heart of Bangkok. Times have moved on and the Sathorn / Ploenchit / Silom areas need a area terminus these days.
